Erik Buell Racing 1190RX

The day I heard that Harley-Davidson was axing Buell, I was distraught. I’ve always had a soft spot for a Buell.  That’s why I was very happy that Erik Buell was continuing to build motorcycles.

Erik Buell Racing released a photograph on its Facebook page teasing a new streetbike expected to be called the 1190RX.

Official details are sparse at the moment, but the new EBR 1190RX is expected to be a street-legal version of the 1190RS racebike, as the image sports a pillion seat and pegs, mirrors, lighting and license plate holder.

The engine is expected to be based on the 1190cc liquid-cooled V-Twin equipped on the RS. EBR claims an output of 175 hp at 9750rpm and 97 ft-lb. at 9400 rpm for the racebike.

EBR’s official website lists three upcoming models, codenamed RX, SX and AX. As we’ve previously surmised, these codenames likely refer to an 1190RX streetbike, 1190SX standard and an 1190AX adventure-styled sport-tourer.
